If you’ve been here before you’ll remember when I posted about Alanah and Jordan’s engagement session . To say I was excited for their wedding after that was definitely an understatement! Having been booked in with me for more than a year before their wedding, we all had plenty of time to dream about what their day would hold, and it certainly didn’t disappoint!

I loved being a part of their planning process and hearing all of their ideas for their wedding day. Initially they had planned to transport the truck that featured in their engagement photos to Vilagrad Winery, (here in the Waikato, just out of Hamilton) to use as the bridal car and in their photos. But it wasn’t quite roadworthy in time for their wedding and so instead they used a family members vintage Zephyr. It made for some brilliant photos which you will see below.

Jordan got ready with his groomsmen and his family at his Aunty’s house while Alanah, her family and bridesmaids got ready at the winery accomodations. Getting family photos was really important to both of them and so we took some time to get some beautiful group shots, as well as lots of candid documentary photos that I know they will treasure.

Without a doubt Jordan and Alanah’s ceremony was one of the most emotional that I have ever had the pleasure of recording. From the moment the music started emotions were welling, and by the time Alanah set foot into the beautiful ceremony space at Vilagrad, there was no hope of a dry eye for anyone – me included. They had special touches throughout their ceremony that spoke to just how important family is to them: Their neice as a flower girl (and who bravely was the very first to walk in), Alanah’s sister singing with the registry signing, Jordan’s sister making a reading during the ceremony, and Alanah’s Mum giving an emotional blessing.

We grabbed a short break around dinner time to pop out through the vines to grab some sunset photos and then it was straight back into the celebrations at their reception with the shoe game, a garter toss and a bouquet toss, followed by an absolutely stunning surprise choreographed first dance.

It is so so hard to pick just a few favourites from their stunning wedding, but enjoy this little highlight reel of their day:
